Esta selección de cortometrajes animados se caracteriza por la inclusión de diferentes contenidos y formas entre las cuales encontramos relatos arriesgados que exploran las posibilidades de la relatividad del tiempo cinematográfico. Desanimar lo que tiene vida propia para animarlo según diferentes concepciones que pasan por el azar y la experimentación estética. Estas temporalidades alternativas encuentran en el surrealismo y el expresionismo referencias de estilo de las que se apropian para actualizar los códigos del espacio ambiguo y conflictivo, por medio del diseño de universos gráficos que adquieren un sentido dinámico en la puesta en escena animada. Este conjunto de películas cortas nos invitan a sumergirnos en sus cavilaciones gráficas sobre las situaciones ordinarias dentro de nuestra cotidianidad, como la pausa para el café o la puesta de sol. También nos invitan a contemplar la forma en movimiento por si misma, a sensibilizarnos frente a lo que nos muestran como sin-sentidos de la sociedad, a recordar los valores que nos definen como especie, y además, una vez más, a entretenernos con la fantasía de la ciencia ficción y dejarnos atrapar por los códigos de géneros y estilos instaurados dentro del cine de ficción.

The story begins in Mexico City where Pedro Linares is dedicated to the manufacture of the “juditas”, an occupation that has been inherited from his family. He wakes up in a strange world and meets Raccoon and other beautiful yet monstrous animals. Pedro will have to fight with Ciervo Calavera, to understand that his creation and courage will be the key to beating him. Freeze frame: the most absurd technique since the invention of the moving image. Through an elaborate process of duplicating the same image over and over again, it creates the illusion of stillness. In this stop motion film, identical figures perform the hopeless task of preserving blocks of ice, like archivists. The repetitive movements reanimate the animals captured inside.
